Sharing files on macOS
Learn how to send and receive files securely and easily over Meshnet on macOS.
This guide provides the information you need to start sharing files over Meshnet on macOS.
Before you begin
Make sure that the device you want to share files with meets the following criteria:
The NordVPN app is running, and the Meshnet feature is enabled in the app.
The device is connected to your Meshnet.
Send files
In your NordVPN app, go to Meshnet
and locate the device you want to share files with.
Click the Send files link button under the desired device, as shown:
In the file selection dialog that appears, select the file or group of files you want to share.
Click Open.
The file transfer begins as soon as the recipient accepts your download request on their device.
Receive shared files
Have your sharer send the files. You will see their request as a file transfer notification in the NordVPN app and the upper-right corner of your Mac's screen.
In the file transfer notification you received, click Review.
Click Accept.
Once the download is complete, you can find the files shared with you by checking your computer’s default download folder location, which is typically the Downloads folder.
Monitoring and managing file transfers
NordVPN informs you about changes in file transfer status via notifications showing if the transfer was successful or not. You can view these notifications either within the app itself or in Notification Center on your Mac.
Additionally, when a device is in the process of transferring files or has a pending file transfer, the icon that appears to of the device name is replaced with a progress indicator:

Canceling file transfers
You can cancel all active and pending file transfers to or from a Meshnet device.
Go to Meshnet
and locate the device whose incoming or outgoing transfers you want to cancel.
Click the More
button to the right of the device.
Select Cancel all transfers.
In the dialog that appears, click Cancel all transfers to confirm canceling.
