Renaming devices on iPhone/iPad

Learn how to set custom nicknames for your Meshnet peer devices on iOS/iPadOS.

This page provides instructions for renaming devices in your Meshnet on the iOS/iPadOS app.

Rename a device

To rename any device in your Meshnet, follow these steps:

1. Open NordVPN.

2. Go to Profile > Meshnet .

3. Depending on which device's name you want to change, do one of the following:

   • To rename this device, tap the More menu in the upper-right corner, and select Rename this device.

     

   • To rename a peer device:

     1. Select the Manage devices card.

     2. Tap the arrow button next to the device you want to rename.

        

     3. Select the arrow next to Name.

        

4. In the Name field, replace the pre-filled Nord name with the new nickname you want the device to have.

5. Tap Save to apply the change.

   

The new custom nickname for the device should now be displayed in your Meshnet device list and synced across all your personal devices.

Note

To remove a device's nickname and restore it to the original Nord name, on the Rename device screen, tap the Reset to Nord name button, tap Reset to confirm, and then select Save.
