Sharing files on iOS
Learn how to send and receive files securely and easily over Meshnet on iOS.
This guide provides the information you need to start sharing files over Meshnet on iOS.
Before you begin
Make sure that the device you want to share files with meets the following criteria:
The NordVPN app is running, and the Meshnet feature is enabled in the app.
The device is connected to your Meshnet.
Send files
You can initiate a file transfer from the NordVPN app or using the iOS sharing menu.
Send files from the NordVPN app
In your NordVPN app, select the Meshnet
tab and tap the Share files section.
Select Photos to open your photo library or Files to open the file manager.
If prompted, allow NordVPN to access your files.
Select the file you want to send. The current functionality only supports sharing one file at a time.
Under Send to, select the Meshnet device you’re sharing with.
Tap Show all devices if you don’t see the desired device in the list.
The file transfer begins as soon as the recipient accepts your download request on their device.

Send files using the iOS sharing menu
Open the app where the files are located, such as Files or Photos.
Touch and hold the file you want to send, and then tap Share
.
Select NordVPN from the list of apps, and then select the Meshnet device you’re sharing with.
Under Send to, select the Meshnet device you’re sharing with.
Receive shared files
To receive files shared from your Meshnet peer’s device, complete the following steps:
Have your sharer send the file.
Open the NordVPN app or tap the file transfer notification that appears in your device's Notification center to launch the app.
Tap Accept to save the file to your device’s storage.
After accepting the file, you'll be prompted to select a destination folder where you want to save the file. Choose the appropriate folder and tap Open.
Keep the NordVPN app open until the download is complete.
