# Linking external Meshnet devices on iPhone/iPad Linking a device of another Meshnet user allows for reciprocal access between your devices, which can be limited by setting specific [permissions](https://meshnet.nordvpn.com/features/explaining-permissions) if needed. ## Send an invitation from iPhone/iPad To add an external device to your Meshnet, invite its owner using their NordVPN account email: 1. Open **NordVPN**. 2. At the bottom of the screen, tap **Products** > **Meshnet** , and select **Manage devices**.

3. Tap **Link external device**.

4. Enter the email address of the NordVPN user you're inviting to have access to your Meshnet.

Select permissions for the other user's device to set the access level you're comfortable with.\ * [**Allow remote access**](https://meshnet.nordvpn.com/features/explaining-permissions/remote-access-permissions): keep this permission selected to stay accessible via Meshnet. * [**Allow receiving files**](https://meshnet.nordvpn.com/features/explaining-permissions/file-sharing-permissions): keep this permission selected to allow file sending from the invitee.\ 6. Tap **Send invitation**.

7. Wait for the recipient to accept the invitation. To withdraw a pending invitation: 1. In the **Meshnet** view, navigate to **Manage devices** > **Invitations**. 2. Under **Sent**, locate the invitation you want to withdraw and tap **Cancel**.

3. Tap **Cancel invitation** to confirm. ## Accept an invitation on iPhone/iPad To complete the device linking process, the recipient needs to accept the invitation in their NordVPN app. {% hint style="warning" %} **Caution** Ensure that the invitation you accept is from a user you know and trust. Open the **NordVPN** app. 2. Go to **Products** > **Meshnet** . 3. Navigate to **Manage devices** and then select **Invitations**. 4. Under **Received**, locate the invitation you want to accept and tap it.

Tap **Accept invitation**. Once the invitation is accepted, the inviter's device will appear under the **External devices** tab of the **Manage devices** menu.
