Access shared folders on Android
Learn how to access shared folders from an Android device over Meshnet.
To access a folder shared from another device using Android follow the steps below.
Note
As a prerequisite, ensure that you have a file manager that allows access to SMB network storage. If the file manager that is installed on your device does not have this capability, you will need to use a third-party application.
- 1.Copy the device's Nord name directly from the NordVPN app.
- 2.Open your file manager.
- 3.Go to Network storage.
- 4.Tap Add network storage and select Network drive (SMB).
- 5.Tap Add manually.
- 6.In the Address field, paste the Nord name followed by a slash (/) and the name of the network share. Example
secret.meerkat-andes.nord/MeshnetFolder
- 7.Fill in the Username and Password (if required) or select Sign in anonymously, and then tap Add.
Note
If the file manager of your choice requires a port number to reach the network share, enter port
445
.
