Access shared folders on Android

Learn how to access shared folders from an Android device over Meshnet.
To access a folder shared from another device using Android follow the steps below.
Note
As a prerequisite, ensure that you have a file manager that allows access to SMB network storage. If the file manager that is installed on your device does not have this capability, you will need to use a third-party application.
  1. 1.
    Copy the device's Nord name directly from the NordVPN app.
  2. 2.
    Open your file manager.
  3. 3.
    Go to Network storage.
  4. 4.
    Tap Add network storage and select Network drive (SMB).

    Tap Add manually.
  6. 6.
    In the Address field, paste the Nord name followed by a slash (/) and the name of the network share. Example
    secret.meerkat-andes.nord/MeshnetFolder
  7. 7.
    Fill in the Username and Password (if required) or select Sign in anonymously, and then tap Add.

Note
If the file manager of your choice requires a port number to reach the network share, enter port 445.
