Common issues on Android
Learn how to effectively tackle Meshnet-related problems on Android.
Introduction
This page is designed to provide troubleshooting advice for Meshnet issues encountered on Android devices.
Possible issues and solutions
This section is populated with specific problems that may occur when using Meshnet on Android devices. Each issue contains a description and possible solutions or suggestions to remedy the situation.
The Meshnet tab is missing on the app
In most cases, the missing Meshnet tab is caused by an out-of-date app version. This can occur when the app is installed from an older APK file or not updated via an app store, such as Google Play or Samsung Galaxy store. Other times, the problem may be caused by an internal app fault. However, the troubleshooting approach should be the same in both cases.
Cannot access the host device's LAN while routing traffic
The Local network discovery setting on the Android NordVPN app affects local network access when routing traffic. While this option is enabled and traffic routing is active, the Android device can only access devices on its LAN, and any attempts to connect to devices on the host's network will fail. To gain access to the remote devices, you should disable the Local network discovery setting.
